The MICHELIN Guide's Türkiye 2027 National Selection will be announced on Thursday, 3 December 2026 at Divan Kuruçeşme in Istanbul. The ceremony will mark the first selection covering restaurants across Türkiye at a national scale.
According to the announcement published on 9 October 2026, the programme will also recognise professionals across gastronomy and hospitality. The number 2027 refers to the guide edition; the ceremony itself is being held in December 2026.
What is the MICHELIN Guide?
First published in 1900 as a practical travel guide for motorists, the MICHELIN Guide gradually became an international reference for restaurant and hotel discovery. Its restaurants are assessed by anonymous, independent inspectors. Learn more about Stars, Bib Gourmand and the Green Star in our MICHELIN Guide explainer.
Being included in the selection does not automatically mean receiving a MICHELIN Star. Stars recognise culinary quality; Bib Gourmand highlights good-value cooking, while the Green Star draws attention to sustainable gastronomy. According to the official MICHELIN explanation, Stars are awarded to restaurants and reassessed each year.
How do one, two and three MICHELIN Stars differ?
One Star represents high-quality cooking worth a stop; Two Stars recognise excellent cuisine worth a detour; and Three Stars denote exceptional cuisine worth a special journey. Luxury interiors or service presentation do not determine the award.
Inspectors focus on ingredient quality, culinary technique, harmony of flavours, a distinctive culinary identity and consistency across the menu and repeat visits. That makes each announcement the result of ongoing scrutiny rather than a prediction based on the ceremony itself. Winners should not be presented as confirmed before results are released.
Why does the 2027 selection matter for Türkiye?
The guide's journey in Türkiye began with Istanbul and subsequently expanded to Izmir, Muğla and Cappadocia. The national selection scheduled for 3 December gives regional culinary traditions an opportunity to appear within one broader assessment.
For a restaurant, this visibility also offers a practical reason to check opening hours, booking channels and guest information. Inclusion in a guide and the availability of a table on a particular date remain two different things.
How should restaurants prepare for booking enquiries?
Interest may change after the ceremony, but no single outcome or increase can be assumed for every venue. Teams can check service days, party-size limits and floor plans across their booking channels so guests receive consistent information.
Rezervem Manager brings reservations and floor planning into one operating workflow, supporting those everyday checks. Once the ceremony concludes, the published selection and awards should be verified through the official MICHELIN Guide.
