What is an automatic gift rule?

An automatic rule in Rezervem Gift issues a defined guest benefit after a supported condition has been recorded and the rule is enabled. It helps a venue recognise visits or occasions consistently.

For example, the venue may want to offer a dessert after a qualifying third visit. First agree on how a completed visit is counted; then define the reward and its validity.

1. Choose a supported trigger

Gift supports five rule triggers: first visit, specified visit count, recorded bill amount threshold, birthday and anniversary. Each relies on the corresponding guest or reservation data.

A spending trigger uses the amount recorded against the reservation. If the venue does not record spend, the rule cannot reliably qualify that guest. An occasion rule likewise needs the relevant date in the profile.

2. Define the reward and expiry

Choose the complimentary product or discount, eligible venue and conditions. Automatic-rule expiry is configured in months, from 1 to 24, rather than as an unlimited validity period.

If the reward is intended for weekday lunches, set the eligible days and times separately. The date of issuance is not the same as the dates when redemption is permitted.

3. Prevent unintended repeated issuance

Decide whether the rule is once per guest or repeatable under its supported period logic. Gift records issuance attempts so the same rule does not repeatedly grant a benefit for one qualifying period.

Separate rules may still issue different benefits to the same guest. Consider the combined cost of your programme rather than only the duplicate protection on one rule.

4. Test when the automatic process evaluates guests

Completed visits and spending conditions are reviewed by scheduled hourly processing; birthdays and anniversaries by daily processing. Issuance does not necessarily happen at the moment the guest enters the venue.

Confirm that the rule, relevant data and scheduled job are enabled. Test an eligible guest, check the created code and expiry, then verify that another run does not grant a duplicate for the same period.

5. Verify delivery separately

A created Gift record does not establish that a notification reached the guest. WhatsApp needs the supported provider and verified relevant permission; SMS and email depend on their own account settings.

When a message is missing, inspect the reward record before creating anything new. Then review delivery configuration, address or phone and applicable consent.

6. Evaluate results before scaling

Review issued entitlements, failed rule attempts, redemptions and expiries. A redeemed benefit is a useful service record, not proof of incremental spending.

Start with one rule and a manageable guest group. Use Gift for reward settings and Manager for the visit records that support the decision.
