The guest has already paid. The check still needs to be accurate.
A guest pays a reservation deposit before visiting. At the end of dinner, the service team must account for that earlier payment while settling the POS check. If the systems are not connected, staff must reconcile the reservation payment and the check manually.
A successful transfer is not simply a message saying that payment occurred. The amount must be associated with the correct reservation, the correct check and an appropriate Simphony payment tender.
Prepayment and pre-authorization are not the same
A prepayment is an amount collected. A pre-authorization places a hold on the card under the agreed conditions and is not automatically a completed sale. The integration must not represent a hold as a settled check payment.
Rezervem Pay supports different collection and protection flows. Only eligible collected amounts can enter the supported prepayment-posting workflow.
Why is posting sometimes deferred?
A check may still be empty when the guest arrives. Immediately posting a payment to an empty Simphony check can produce an incorrect closure. Rezervem therefore verifies the open check, its balance and the configured payment tender before posting an eligible amount.
If the prepaid amount is below the current outstanding amount and the configured conditions are satisfied, the payment may be posted. If the amount would cause an incorrect close or cannot be safely applied, the operation is held for the appropriate exception handling.
What should the team test?
Operators should know which exceptions require manual reconciliation. The integration should not be described as guaranteeing that all payments are instantly posted or that double collection is impossible.
