What is a concierge restaurant referral?
A hotel concierge referral begins when a guest asks for help dining at a restaurant beyond the property. It includes understanding preferences, suggesting an appropriate venue and, where needed, helping the guest make a reservation.
A recommendation is not the same as a confirmed booking. The hotel should distinguish what the guest requested from what the restaurant actually accepted.
Understand the guest before approaching the restaurant
Ask for the dining area, preferred time, party size and relevant food or accessibility requirements. Collect only information needed for the booking and share it within the agreed permissions.
Evaluate the restaurant's suitability and known booking conditions. Avoid promising a table before the venue confirms availability.
- Date, time and number of guests are confirmed.
- The guest has agreed to the chosen restaurant and basic conditions.
- Only necessary guest information is sent to the partner.
- The team knows who will follow up on the request.
Track the referral across shifts
A booking request can be relayed from reception to concierge and then to the restaurant. Keep the source, selected venue, requested time and latest response in a shared, authorized record rather than an individual's messages.
Define who takes responsibility for changes, cancellations and late replies. If the venue has not confirmed, the status should remain pending rather than completed.
Tell the guest the actual outcome
Once the restaurant accepts, communicate the confirmed date, time, party size and any relevant conditions. If the requested time is unavailable, discuss alternatives rather than implying a guaranteed reservation.
For quality reviews, separate the number of recommendations, booking requests, accepted reservations and confirmed visits. A referral is not automatically a commission-bearing outcome.
- No confirmation is sent before the restaurant approves.
- Changes are passed to the guest using the agreed channel.
- The hotel has a contact route when the venue cannot accommodate the request.
Use the right Rezervem workflow
Rezervem Guest Network supports partner relationships for referrals from hotels to participating city restaurants. When a hotel platform needs an integrated flow, authorized Partner API access can support availability and booking requests.
In-house restaurant bookings, room entitlements and PMS verification are separate workflows in Rezervem Stay and related hospitality products. Any hotel or concierge commission must follow the participating partners' agreement.
