What is the practical difference?
Rezervem Pay tracks payment requests, collections and refunds while Rezervem Manager tracks bookings, arrivals and no-shows. Daily reconciliation compares both with provider records. A request is not a charge, a hold is not revenue, and a refund can be recorded on a different date from the original collection.
An example from service
A restaurant may have 40 bookings and 10 prepayment requests in one evening. If only eight requests are successfully captured by the provider, counting all ten as revenue overstates collection.
Another guest may pay for a cake through an independent Pay link and later link it to a reservation. Counting that transaction once as a standalone payment and again as booking revenue creates a duplicate.
Where the process can go wrong
Mixing restaurants, currencies or date bases can distort a report. Pay request reporting considers successful collections and related refunds, with separate handling where a period contains multiple currencies.
A prepayment does not automatically mean the later restaurant service check has been settled. Bank, Rezervem and any Simphony records must be matched to the correct payment and check identifiers.
Five essential checks
Run these checks before relying on a payment status in service.
- Choose one venue, reporting period, currency and transaction basis.
- Separate arrivals, cancellations and no-shows in Manager.
- Count sent, pending, paid, failed and expired Pay requests separately.
- Exclude card holds from collected revenue and link every refund to its original charge.
- Compare provider and any POS-check records, then assign an owner and follow-up date to discrepancies.
How Rezervem supports the workflow
Rezervem Pay records requests and payment states under the selected venue and provider. An eligible request can be attached to a booking later; that relationship is not another card transaction.
Rezervem Manager supplies operational booking data. Internal reports complement, rather than replace, final bank reconciliation. Keep currencies separate and account for refunds that settle after the original charge date.
FAQ: Is a pre-authorisation included in daily revenue?
No. A hold is not a collected charge unless a valid capture succeeds.
FAQ: Does linking a standalone charge create another collection?
No. It changes the relationship between records, not the original bank movement.
FAQ: Do refunds always appear on the original request date?
No. Dates differ; check the report's accounting basis and the provider statement.
