Which conditions should a restaurant gift include?

A restaurant reward should state the actual benefit, eligible venue, expiry and any day or time limits. Rezervem Gift records these conditions for staff to check when the guest redeems a code.

A dessert offered on a weekday lunch visit needs clearer terms than an informal promise of 'something next time'. Agree on the terms before giving the guest a code.

1. Choose the gift type

Use a complimentary product or defined amount or percentage discount according to the venue's goal. A menu item has an ingredient and service cost; a discount changes the bill value.

Give the reward a clear name and explanation so the guest and service team understand the same commitment. Avoid calling an entitlement a financial gift-card balance.

2. Define expiry and venue

Specify the eligible restaurant and when the entitlement expires. A manually issued gift can use the supported date or month-based expiry options; automatic rules use their configured month range.

Be precise if a restaurant group operates different venues. A guest should not arrive at a sister property expecting a benefit that applies elsewhere.

3. Match eligible days and hours to service

Gift can hold day and time restrictions, including overnight time windows. A lunch-only offer can be valid at selected hours without being valid for every service.

Plan the stated window around the venue's operating schedule. For overnight windows, the day logic follows the start day, so test any period crossing midnight.

4. Distinguish a Gift badge from immediate eligibility

An unredeemed Gift may appear in Manager while the guest is booked for a service outside its permitted hours. The badge is useful context, not a complete validation decision.

Staff should open the benefit and check its actual conditions. The redemption operation performs the definitive rule check.

5. Protect a gift against duplicate use

When staff redeem a code, the system checks prior use, cancellation, expiry and time restrictions. It also protects the record against two simultaneous successful redemptions.

Do not solve an invalid-code message by issuing another reward immediately. First inspect whether the guest is at the wrong venue or time, or whether the original code has already been redeemed.

6. Check notification and language

Gift texts may be maintained for supported guest languages, including titles, conditions and messages. A different image for every language is not automatically generated.

Sending by WhatsApp, SMS or email depends on the appropriate setup and permissions. Review the guest-facing message and the venue's redemption instructions in the relevant language.
