Why Hotel Guests Do Not Use Digital Services

Help hotel guests adopt digital services through clear QR links, language support, staff guidance and accessible web or mobile journeys.

Hotel guest using a phone

The guest cannot see which problem the app solves

Hotel guests often avoid digital services because the next useful action is hard to find, not because technology is inherently unwelcome. Rezervem Stay is designed to make eligible hotel services easier to access on a guest's phone. Launching a digital interface does not guarantee that guests use it. Many will still call reception because the action they need is not clear.

Begin with a real question, such as whether the hotel has a table for dinner tonight. Tell guests where to find the answer, rather than asking them to browse every feature.

Remove friction from the first use

Long forms, crowded navigation and unclear rules cause abandonment. Keep appropriate verification without asking for data that was already obtained securely.

Test the QR placement and first screen on real phones. If an action fails, explain the problem and offer a staffed alternative.

Language and accessibility are operational

International guests need accurate dates, times, eligibility rules and error messages. Test right-to-left languages in real booking screens, not only in labels.

Test actual guest languages and accessible interactions across different devices. Wrong timing or unclear prices can cause real booking and service errors.

Staff are part of the interface

Reception, restaurant and beach staff should know when and how to point guests to the same correct service link. Visible room QR access is helpful when it solves a guest's immediate task.

Guests without a compatible phone must still be able to request service. Staff should understand basic error scenarios and the fallback process.

Review the first week by checking guest completions, repeated questions and abandoned tasks. Printing more QR codes is not the same as fixing a broken journey.

Web and mobile should feel consistent

Hotels may offer browser or QR access and optionally branded mobile apps. Service names, booking states and information should remain consistent across the deployed channels.

Sharing source records does not mean sharing sessions automatically. Mobile release and feature parity need their own tests.

Stay is the intended guest-facing hotel journey, and its restaurant guest application has implemented room/stay verification and booking operations.
