How can a venue prevent gift-code misuse?
Assign a defined reward to the right guest with a unique code, venue and validity conditions. Rezervem Gift checks expiry, cancellation, past redemption and eligible time when the code is used.
An invalid code does not necessarily mean fraud. A guest may simply arrive at a different restaurant or during an excluded service window.
Define the benefit before issuing a code
Set a clear complimentary item or discount, explain where it is valid and define the expiry. This protects both the guest's expectation and the restaurant's cost.
Avoid informal handovers in which staff promise a benefit but the code says something else. Use the same conditions in guest-facing information and service instructions.
Control repeated automatic issuance
Gift rule triggers can be based on recorded visits, spending, birthdays or anniversaries. Use the rule's supported once-per-guest or period controls as appropriate.
The Gift issuance ledger helps avoid duplicate rewards for a single rule and period. Several different rules may still create several benefits, so monitor the overall programme.
Check codes and conditions during service
When a guest presents a code, staff should open the Gift details, verify the venue and expiry and check whether the benefit is currently valid.
The Gift indicator in Manager is useful context, but the final day/time restriction is applied at redemption. Atomic redemption prevents two simultaneous successful uses of the same entitlement.
Investigate suspicious cases in context?
Review the guest's issued, redeemed, cancelled and expired entitlements. Separate a mistaken code, a past redemption and an attempt outside opening hours.
If an entitlement has been incorrectly granted, the authorised workflow can cancel it. Do not issue a replacement without checking the underlying record and its history.
