How to verify Experience redemption codes and refunds

Learn when Rezervem Experience issues use codes, how staff redeem them and why redemption, refunds and Gift rights remain separate.

When does an Experience purchase need a use code?

Rezervem Experience can issue redemption codes for eligible reservation-free sales where the delivery type and payment conditions support code-based fulfilment. An order linked directly to a reservation is a different delivery flow. Not every experience purchase must produce a code.

A redemption code helps an authorised employee verify a purchased right to a particular service. Creating the code does not mean the guest has already received the experience, and it does not prove that a refund or a second payment occurred.

A guest arrives with one of two prepaid rights

Imagine a guest bought two eligible breakfast experiences for later use. The staff member checks the code against the correct item and venue, confirms its validity and records only the code being used. Redeeming one entitlement must not silently mark a second entitlement as fulfilled.

A code may be valid, already redeemed, expired or cancelled. Staff should see the relevant status before service, and concurrent redemption attempts must not create duplicate use. If the guest later asks for a refund, review the unused items and collected amount separately from the code's current state.

Five redemption and refund controls

Check the real venue configuration and staff responsibilities before inviting guests to use this workflow.

  • Check the order channel and whether this delivery type requires a redemption code.
  • Match the code to the purchased product, variant, quantity and validity period.
  • Ask authorised staff to confirm whether the code is valid, used, expired or cancelled.
  • Mark only the delivered entitlement as redeemed and test duplicate-use protection.
  • For refunds, reconcile unused rights with the actual payment and provider result.

How Experience, Pay and Gift keep rights distinct

Experience associates supported redemption codes with purchase orders and records redemption activity. Rezervem Pay supplies the payment outcome and refund information. A code cancellation alone should never be reported as a completed bank refund.

Rezervem Gift handles complimentary privileges and gifts, which are not interchangeable with a paid Experience order. Teams can use both products in guest service, but they must not assume a Gift privilege automatically creates an Experience sale or payment.

FAQ: Does every Experience order create a code?

No. Code issuance depends on delivery and payment conditions.

FAQ: Does a used code trigger an automatic refund?

No. Redemption and refund operations require separate checks.

FAQ: Is a Gift code the same as an Experience code?

No. Gift represents a granted privilege; Experience may represent a paid right to a service.
