A floor-plan move and a booking reassignment are different
Moving a table icon to represent a new room layout does not necessarily change the table attached to a guest booking. If a four-seat table moves indoors, review both the physical layout and the service assignments.
Find the mismatch
Compare table identifiers, capacities and dining areas on the floor plan with the assignment shown in the booking record. Pay particular attention to joined tables, changed party sizes and overlapping service periods.
- Are the booking date, time and property correct?
- Does the table label match its real-world location?
- Could two staff members have changed the same booking?
Correct the appropriate record
An authorized colleague should update the floor layout and the booking assignment through their respective operations. Verify that the reservation record reflects the intended table before advising the guest.
Run a pre-service check
Review larger parties and special seating requests with the host team. If the discrepancy persists, report the table code, booking reference and time of the change rather than making further speculative edits.
