How to add optional products to a tasting menu

Configure tasting-menu add-ons in Rezervem Experience without confusing included items, optional extras, quantities or payment.

What is an optional add-on to a tasting menu?

Rezervem Experience supports linking an optional product to a main experience product. A restaurant might sell an eight-course tasting menu and offer a separately priced beverage pairing or celebration cake. The base menu and the extra should have distinct descriptions, quantities and prices whenever the guest can choose them independently.

A linked product is not necessarily part of a discounted bundle. The commercial promise remains the kitchen's responsibility: state what the menu includes, what costs extra and which options require preparation before service.

Build a pairing without confusing the kitchen or guest

Imagine four guests choosing the main menu, but only two ordering a pairing. Record the main menu quantity and pairing quantity separately. The linked item must be compatible with the main product's venue; connections are limited to one level rather than unlimited nested bundles.

Check whether a pairing is limited to a particular main-menu variant. Variant restrictions can be set once the product has been saved for the first time. Test the actual eligible sales channel, because linking products in the catalogue does not mean every channel displays and sells the combination.

Five checks for tasting-menu add-ons

Run these checks with a real venue and an authorised staff account before treating the workflow as ready for guests.

  • Describe the base menu and exactly what the listed price includes.
  • Create the optional pairing or service as its own product and variant.
  • Verify shared venue availability and the allowed single-level product link.
  • Check add-on quantities against the number of main-menu items purchased.
  • Test an order with and without the extra and confirm amounts and tax lines.

How Experience keeps product and payment lines distinct

Rezervem Experience stores the add-on relationship and the catalogue information needed to prepare a product order. When a supported purchase is made, the order can distinguish the menu item from the extra item. The final amount and tax allocation should reflect the selected options and quantities.

If advance payment is offered through Rezervem Pay, verify the payable portion and any outstanding venue balance separately. A catalogue association does not trigger payment, kitchen preparation or automatic discounts by itself.

FAQ: Does an add-on automatically discount the menu?

No. The relationship describes an optional product, not a universal bundle discount.

FAQ: Is an add-on available in every branch?

No. Venue, channel and product eligibility still apply.

FAQ: Can guests select different quantities of pairings?

Where the sales workflow supports it, quantities must satisfy the linked-product rules.
