Loyalty Programme: Points or Guest Privileges?

Choose points, recognition or tier privileges for your hospitality business with costs and operational checks in mind.

Why do your guests return?

Points and privileges serve different motives. A weekday café regular may value progress towards a reward; a fine-dining guest might value recognition, access or a special invitation more than a discount.

A combined programme can work, but begin with why people return to your venue. Design a benefit your team can explain and deliver without relying on an untested automation.

Points make a reward cycle visible

A points model turns qualified visits or spend into measurable progress. It can be suitable when regular visits are already part of guests' habits.

Define which behaviour earns points, expiry, redemption thresholds and reward costs. Ambiguity turns a generous gesture into a difficult checkout conversation.

A reward can be a dessert, selected item or limited discount. Rezervem Gift already manages defined complimentary entitlements and their use; it does not automatically run a membership points ledger.

Privileges provide recognition

At fine dining, an invitation or personal welcome can matter more than a discount. At hotels, eligible spa, beach or accommodation privileges may be more meaningful.

Capacity constraints must be explicit. A priority booking window is not a guaranteed table; define when, where and for whom a privilege applies.

When an entitlement is verified and available to authorised staff, recognition becomes a practical service decision. Staff access must still respect guest privacy.

A combination can work in one programme

A hypothetical programme might offer small visit rewards at entry level and special-event access to higher tiers. This is a design option, not a standard built-in Socielty package.

Socielty is developing membership levels, invitations, rewards and access privileges. Spend-based points require verified transaction matching and a working reward engine. Rezervem's Oracle Simphony Cloud integration alone does not prove automatic point progression is live.

Gift issues and redeems individual rights. Connecting one of those rights to future Socielty membership rules needs a verified integration, rather than assuming booking and gift redemption happen automatically.

Fit the plan to your operation

A café may begin with a simple reward cycle and open admission; fine dining may prefer invitations and personalised privileges. Hotels need separate rules across rooms, wellness, dining and beach facilities.

Open membership means eligible guests can apply; Private membership requires an invitation or approval. This admission choice is separate from the type of loyalty reward. Compare admission models.

If staff cannot explain the programme simply, its conditions may be too complex. Decide the guest value, verification and actual redemption process first. See Socielty and Gift.

Separate Gift, Join and Manager responsibilities

A one-time complimentary item does not require a full membership tier system. See Gift versus Socielty (Turkish resource) and which Rezervem products to choose (Turkish resource).

Socielty is in development. This article describes the membership design and intended capabilities, not a generally available production release.
