How do you calculate the cost of a gift campaign?
Start with the number of entitlements issued and the number actually redeemed. For a complimentary product, account for preparation and service cost; for a discount, use the amount actually deducted.
Rezervem Gift records guest entitlements and redemption states. A campaign's cost is not automatically equal to the face value of every code issued.
1. Separate statuses for a consistent period
Choose a reporting date and group gifts by issue period, not only by the calendar month in which they were redeemed. Rewards issued in October can be used in November.
- Select the campaign issue-date cohort.
- Count issued entitlements in that cohort.
- Separate used, still-active, cancelled and expired codes.
- Use comparable validity windows.
- Identify missing bill or product-cost data.
2. Calculate the redemption rate
The basic formula is redeemed entitlements divided by issued entitlements, multiplied by 100. For example, if 50 of 200 issued gifts are redeemed, the observed rate is 25%.
That does not mean the campaign is complete if many benefits remain active. Compare gifts with similar validity windows before judging results.
Cancelled or invalid records need their own explanation so the denominator remains clear to the team.
3. Separate item cost from discount cost
Suppose 30 complimentary desserts each cost the restaurant an illustrative TRY 80 to prepare and serve. Direct cost would be TRY 2,400. Treat this as an example, not observed customer data.
With percentage discounts, use the actual deductions on redeemed bills. The number of redeemed codes alone cannot tell you the total cost.
4. Evaluate return visits separately
A guest returning to use a reward does not prove the gift caused an additional visit. They might have come regardless.
Compare the same guest's prior frequency or similar guest groups over equivalent periods. Record the limits of that comparison.
5. Decide which rule to improve
A reward with very low redemption may have restrictive dates, insufficient guest awareness or limited value. Review these factors before increasing the benefit.
Use Rezervem Gift for the entitlement counts and Manager to examine guest visits. Keep messaging outcomes and commercial results separate.
